Tech Lands Three on Regional Award List
LUBBOCK, Texas –The Texas Tech track program earned three post-season awards on Monday as head coach Wes Kittley, assistant coach Dion Miller and student-athlete Gil Roberts were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Tech Adds Two More to NCAA Outdoor Championships
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech track program added two more names to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships list as Terra Evans and Darrell Roddick were selected for at-large bids.

Roddick received an automatic bid in the long jump by placing fourth at the Midwest Regional. He earned an at-large spot in the triple jump by placing sixth in the triple jump equaling his best jump of the year at 52’-11” and is currently the 12th ranked triple jumper going into the meet.

Texas Tech Female Athlete of the Week in the Big 12
LUBBOCK, Texas –Texas Tech’s Sally Kipyego was named the Big 12 Female Athlete of the Week for her NCAA record breaking performance at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games.

The eight-time NCAA champion ran an 8:48.77 in the 3,000M breaking the previous NCAA record of 8:49.28 set by Kim Smith of Providence in 2004. The time is a personal-best, school-record time and the second fastest in the world. She finished second to 2008 Olympian Kara Goucher by only two seconds.

Baylor at Texas Tech Preview
Lubbock, TX -- The Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-11, 1-6) return to the United Spirit Arena to host the Baylor Bears (15-7, 3-5) on Saturday evening. The game begins at 7 PM and will be televised on ESPNU.

Clay Matvick will call the play-by-play. Dickie Simpkins will provide the game analysis.

Mark Finkner will call the action against the Bears on Saturday evening along with analyst Corky Oglesby on the Texas Tech Sports Network local station Sports Radio 1340.
